Phd Club: Dibenzyldithiocarbamate protects cells from cuproptosis and prevents NPL4 aggregation by Martin Loffelmann

Dear colleagues,
I would like to invite you to the lecture by Martin Loffelmann called "Dibenzyldithiocarbamate protects cells from cuproptosis and prevents NPL4 aggregation". The lecture will be on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at 9AM in room 1.09 at IMTM.

Abstract
The NPL4 protein is a crucial cofactor of the p97 translocase and plays a vital role in the protein degradation system via the proteasome. Copper ionophores cause NPL4 aggregation, which leads to abrogation of this pathway. This copper poisoning can be averted by adding another copper ionophore - dibenzyldithiocarbamate.
