World success of Czech scientists: A breakthrough method can help in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease or cancer

The world leadership of Czech scientists can help in the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, or some cases of cancers. The team of scientists of IMTM was the first in the world to present a breakthrough method of studying the processes in cells that lead to the development of neurodegenerative diseases. In the interview, the author of the study Dr. Martin Mistrík discusses how this revolutionary new method can affect the future of medicine and explains why scientists burned the Blesk News logo into a human cell. "So far, no one has ever been able to damage cells and observe them in the way we do at the moment," said scientist Dr. Martin Mistrík. He tries to approach the whole process in layman's terms: "We burn the cell on a very small microscopic scale, so we make such a blister on or inside the cell. After that, we can observe how the cell reacts to the burn."
