The study and the possibility of regulation of the molecular mechanisms in haematological malignancies.
The thesis is focused on study of the epigenetic modifications, particularly DNA methylation detected from blood samples, bone-marrow aspirates and cell lines treated with DNA demethylation agents. The aim of the thesis is to analyze methylation profile of selected p15INK4b and RIL genes, and epigenetically regulated tumor modulating genes such as GPX3, SPARC and TGFBI. DNA methylation profile of the monitored genes will be compared with global methylation detected from DNA samples obtained from patient with multiple myeloma (MM) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
