Serum-based Markers of Gastrointestinal Cancer

The larger goal of the work is to identify protein indicators of neoplastic diseases of the gut in serum. The xenograft mouse is used as the model system and mouse serum is analyzed using mass spectrometry. These physiological cues are expected to enable a more accurate prognosis of gastrointestinal cancer than is currently possible.
