I am postdoctoral fellow at Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacky University. My research focuses on the investigation of carborans as inhibitors of carbonic anhydrase IX. To investigate CA IX inhibition potency at the cellular level she is using various techniques. Among of them the most important are: measurement of extracellular pH in 2D and 3D cell cultures, intracellular pH alternation, several antimetastasis assays and in parallel with the measurements of cellular cytotoxicity. The future development of this techniques is to use it for discovery of unknown compounds by adopting high content screening technology. My first postdoctoral fellow placement was at Institute of Biophysics Academy of Sciences at the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Pharmacology in Brno, Czech Republic. During this period her research interest was focused on the investigation of the properties of cisplatin analogs as potentially new class of non-traditional antitumor metal-based complexes. My research background is supported by the fact that she completed her Ph.D. in the same department working on the project entitled „Mechanistic studies of biological effects of selected antitumor drugs“.
